Editorial Review for Toro – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
Chef Ken Oringer replicates the success of Clio and Uni, his pair of award-winning Back Bay restaurants, with this stylish tapas bar. Located on the edge of the South End, just north of Massachusetts Ave., Toro lists its daily menu on a large chalkboard, and communal tables only add to the social vibe that most tapas spots enjoy. Typical menu items include salt cod fritters, rainbow beet salad and griddled cuttlefish.

Fun restaurant with outstanding food. The grilled corn with pepper and aged cheese was incredible, I broke my don't eat corn on the cob in public rule for it, and would do so again! The menu showcases non traditional items that you don't see at other restaurants, I would suggest being adventurous and try new things here. The sweetbreads were excellent. I was even surprised at the value of the food. The outdoor seating is great for the summer as well.

In addition to offering the best and most creative spanish cuisine, Toro offers a truly amazing food tasting experience period. I have experienced tapas restaurants in San Franciso, Chicago, New York and Miami and Toro is far and above the best I have had. Atmosphere is vibrant, wine selection is phenomenal. Service can be slow due to crowds
